NEEDLE ACUPUNCTURE Traditional needle acupuncture is the insertion of fine needles into the body at specific points which have been empirically proven effective in the treatment of specific disorders. This painless method of acupuncture is the most common method of stimulating or sedating acupuncture points. A sterile disposable acupuncture needle is inserted into the acupuncture point. It is left in the point anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes depending on the condition treating. |
ELECTRIC ACUPUNCTURE Electric acupuncture is another technique to balance the acupuncture point. The doctor will use an electric impulse either attached to an acupuncture needle or by itself to stimulate or sedate the point. |
LASER ACUPUNCTURE Laser acupuncture utilizes an infrared light to stimulate the point. Each point is stimulated with the laser for a few seconds. |
ACUPRESSURE Acupressure is a non-invasive technique. This technique uses finger pressure to stimulate specific acupuncture points. The pressure is applied to an acupuncture point and is held anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes depending on the condition. |
AURICULAR THERAPY Auricular therapy utilizes points on the ear to balance the energy. Each point on the ear correlates to a particulr area of the body. The points can be stimulated with many different techniques. The doctors here use needles, tacks and pellets to stimulate corresponding points. The time of treatment depends on the method of stimulation. Needles can be left in the ear for 5 to 20 minutes. Tacks and pellets can be placed in the ear for up to a week. |
